Naturopathic Wellness Steps

What are Naturopathic Wellness Steps, Actually? Naturopathically?

Have you ever felt that something was out of balance with your health?
Did you ask for advice from someone else?
Did you get better?

As a Naturopath it is my goal to guide people to connect to their own inner and natural ability to heal.

Your body can heal itself

Like the child learning to tie her shoes. Or the teenager learning to regulate her choices. These habits can be learned.

We can learn to take charge of our well-being

No matter how we feel our health is “relative” to the health of others. We can believe and feel that we are well.

My own mother was diagnosed with cancer over five years ago. She has always been a “Pollyanna” – an ruthlessly optimistic character from a 1960s Disney movie and book by author Porter.

My mom sees the good in everything around her and maintains a positive attitude towards life.

Even as she sits in a hospital room in isolation right now, she is able to laugh and smile. She trusts and believes that life is good. Even in illness.

The combination of her incredulous of faith in her own body and her trusting attitude towards the medicine guides around her make her a healthy being.

Three Naturopathic Wellness Steps

As a Naturopath I see a combination of three areas of life leading to a well body and a well”ness”

A. Nourish ness
B. Sleep ness
C. Kind ness

A. NourishNess – Our first power is the food that we eat – Our Nourishment

Providing our bodies with living food that nourishes us:

Body, bones, muscles, digestion, brain

These nourishing foods are those that have been:

1. Farmed and harvested from the earth with love

Like heading down to the Farmer’s Market at the Central Ferry Pier and buying direct from the hands that planted, cared for and picked the food.

Lovingly cared for food.

2. Lovingly Prepared for Food

When you prepare the food you need to provide it with love and attention. This is a process that infuses the food with energy and chi and life force.

3. Processed very minimally

These are foods in the natural state: ready to be absorbed by our bodies:

healthy fats, gentle proteins and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

Eat a rainbow of love.

As we eat good nourishing foods, our bodies respond. Our bodies trust that we are careful. Our bodies believe we are loving.

This nourishment, trust and love allows our bodies to rest.

B. SleepNess – Sleep is our next step…

As much as we depend on our bodies to provide energy while we are awake; helping us:

communicate
think and
produce during the day.

We need our bodies to recover and relax at night.

Sleep is central to being and feeling healthy.

Getting to bed at the same time, waking at the same time, treating the bedtime ritual as sacred.

These are important.

Allowing the night time rest is one thing, yet day time rest and recovery is the final step to reminding your body to heal.

C. KindNess – Your Mindset is Key to letting the inner healer find health..

Each month I conduct a New Moon Ritual to set new intentions. Now I am finding my guest are able to achieve greater things.

If you are in Hong Kong this Friday we are doing an early morning New Moon Nia Dance – join us

The key to achieving, is to visualize.

Visualize the feeling that you are desiring. Not so much the outcome. The universe will always surprise you with the outcome. Your desire can be for how you wish to experience life.

What is it that you are actually wanting from this “goal” or outcome?

Are you wanting a promotion?

What is at the root of your promotion: appreciation, respect from your dad, love from your partner?

Ask for those emotion as well as the goal.

When I am promoted, I want my dad to recognize how responsible and capable I am. I want to be respected

We can learn to acknowledge our own needs and feelings. We can give to ourselves the recognition and respect we desire.

Recognition
Responsible
Capable
Respected

Finally, we learn to love ourselves with all of our weakness and limitations

Yet, these are not limitations, these are our window into the soul. As we embrace all our ourselves and provide the love and attention that we desire:

Mindful Awareness of our Feelings

Acknowledgment of our Humanity, and

Compassion and forgiveness for ourselves

Naturopathic Wellness Steps Guide

This is the Naturopathic Guide to Wellness.

Feeding your body with care, reassuring your subconscious dream body and showing kindness to your Mind.

Your own “well-being” is up to you.

Your state of mind.

Like my mom living with cancer, and the teenager who decides to take charge of her life. We can:

– NOURISH our bodies well,
– TREAT ourselves well, and
– ALLOW our minds to feel well

Giving your body the food and nourishment that it desires, with loving, whole foods allows the body to function at its best.

As your body trusts you, she allows herself to rest and recover during sleep. These night rests allow us to reconnect the conscious and the subconscious.

Our true inner self is recognized and acknowledged with restful sleep. As we acknowledge ourselves we develop Self-Compassion and a resilience that allows us to enjoy every trial we experience.

Rather than seeing a trial as painful – we see this as opportunity for growth and understanding.

These are exciting times!

Bring on the conflict – are You Ready to Grow?
